What we can't see -
Because the moon is in the way

how could it be any different

As the next total eclipse of the sun in out area will take place only on 3. September 2081, I could count on that the sky would be as cloudy as never before in this year. And also the fact that I was not the only one with bad weather didn't make the situation any more bearable. And here as a comfort to views that I wouldn't have seen in any case (because I don't own a telescope).

    hope

And now I live in the hope to be in Angola in June 2001 and december 2002 in order to experience the next total eclipses of the sun. And there the risk of a cloudy sky should be considerable low. But the unlucky fellow that I am, it will be raining on these days. The I will at least go down in history for being able to make rain.

And as these eclipses are also already out of date, here a link to the NASA page with quite a lot more and really current information.

    completeness

For completeness here a picture of the earth upwards from diagonally opposite at the moment of the eclipse of the sun in Europe. As expected from this point of view you can't see anything of the eclipse.
