Malaysia -
Batu Caves

Batu Caves are one of the most sacred places for the Indians living in Malaysia. On Deepavali, thousands of Hindus there come together to prove during a big festival their faith by donating offerings and enduring physical pain. Starting at the extensive fairground, a steep staircase leads up to the cave, where the people crowd in front of the altars to hand over their donations to the priests.

In the upper section of the cave, there is a chimney, which floods the room with just as sentimental as unreal seeming light.
